This policy explains what information Outshined.io (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit outshined.io, how it’s used, and the choices you have. Outshined.io is an independent resource run by Nathan Emerick in Twin Falls, Idaho, USA. If you have questions, email info@outshined.io.
The short version
- You don’t need an account to use this site, and we don’t run a mailing list.
- Our interactive tools, including the AI Readiness Assessment, calculators, checklists and template builders, run entirely in your browser. What you type into them is not sent to us or stored.
- If you contact us, we use your details only to reply.
- We use Google AdSense for advertising and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. These services use cookies. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent first, and you can change your choices at any time.
- Some links are affiliate links. If you sign up through them, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you include in your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider and the services listed below automatically receive technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
Information we don’t collect. Answers, numbers and text you enter into the interactive tools on this site stay in your browser. We don’t sell products on this site, so we don’t collect payment information.
2. How we use information
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To run, secure and improve the website, including fighting spam and abuse.
- To understand which content is useful, using aggregated analytics.
- To show advertising that helps keep the site free.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance. You can learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and you can turn off personalized ads at any time in Google’s Ad Settings.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google’s consent message asks for your choice before personalized ads are shown. If you visit from a U.S. state with a consumer privacy law, you’ll see a “Do not sell or share my personal information” option that lets you opt out of personalized advertising.
4. Analytics and site services
We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site. They process technical information on our behalf or under their own privacy policies:
- Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit, to understand traffic and which pages are useful. See Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Jetpack and Akismet (Automattic), for site statistics, security, spam protection and fast image delivery. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Fonts, which delivers the typefaces used on the site, so your browser connects to Google’s servers.
- Bluehost, our web host, which keeps standard server logs.
5. Affiliate links
Some links to products we write about, such as Murf.ai, ImagineArt, Apollo.io and CustomGPT, are affiliate links. Outshined.io is also a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. When you click one, the company may set its own cookie to record that you came from Outshined.io, so we can be credited if you sign up. We don’t receive your personal details from these companies. Their own privacy policies apply once you’re on their sites. Affiliate relationships never change our recommendations, and we label pages that contain affiliate links.
6. Cookies and your choices
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site and the services above use them for advertising, analytics, security and basic site features. You can:
- Change your consent choices through the privacy or consent link shown by Google’s message, where available in your region.
- Turn off personalized ads in Google’s Ad Settings.
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though ads may be less relevant.
7. Sharing your information
We don’t sell your personal information for money. We share information only with the service providers described above, when required by law, to protect the rights and safety of the site and its visitors, or with your consent. Some U.S. state laws treat sharing data for personalized advertising as a “sale” or “sharing”; you can opt out of this as described in section 3.
8. How long we keep information
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to respond and for reasonable record-keeping, and then delete them. Analytics and advertising data are kept according to Google’s and Automattic’s retention settings.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, including the EEA, the UK and U.S. states such as California, Colorado, Virginia and others, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, to opt out of targeted advertising, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email info@outshined.io. We’ll respond within the time required by applicable law, and we won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights. If you’re in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Security
The site uses HTTPS encryption, and we take reasonable steps to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don’t send sensitive information through the contact form.
11. Children
This site is intended for business audiences and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. We’ll revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be noted on this page.
